HOOK UP: ASTRO'S DUGOUT SEATS!!

Houston Astro's vs. Texas Rangers 6/25/08
My first time sitting in these seats! Pretty sweet. Plus you have those handy beverage holders!
The downside...this guy's head blocking my view. What a view it is! I had to crack up because during the 7th inning stretch this dude was zoomin in on a blond babe. He had it so close to her that you could almost see what she was thinking! Ah ha. Poor gal had no idea. Thank god she didn't pick her nose or something.

Check out the view on Oswalt!!!
So close...yet so far away!
Lee is the MAN!!! CRACK!
It's all good boys....next inning! I was keeping morale up! ;-)
Just looking to my right...WUT!!!
My dear friend Myers, who is kind enough to invite me to these fun events. Too bad he didn't let me drive his Corvette. Maybe next time! I love attending these games.

Thursday Thirteen: Dating Prospects

This is what happens when you search for a match online! It is complete madness. I have been talking to most of these guys for a few weeks and have met a few and have plans on meeting up with a few. I am TRULY taking things slowly and just wanting to get to know them, even if it is sort of a friendship approach first. My summer is going to be interesting. Here is the breakdown of potential Mr. NEXT.
This is Eric-41. Such a sweetheart, been talking for a few weeks over emails and text messages..he had asked for phone number and then informed me he started seeing someone. He was topping the list until he said that. We have talked a couple times because he said you never know how these things will end up and he wanted to keep my contact info. I find him very attractive and very easy to talk to. He is just making the list because he is hawt! LOL
They say variety is the spice of life, they couldn't be more right!

This is "J" I met him Tuesday night. He invited me to his softball tournament so I thought what the heck. I can see him in action. He is adorable. We actually met up for a drink after the Astro's game last night too.

Then there is "Airplane Eric"-31. I call him that because I met him on a flight from here to Phoenix. We have talked more lately and we may hang out soon. He is sweet, sexy but I don't think there is a lot of potential for great conversations.... I think I'll keep him around for entertainment value. He is the one NOT sticking out his tongue.

Who doesn't want to date someone who goes by California Dreamy-44? I still haven't gotten his whole name. lol We have exchanged a few notes.

Below is Daniel-32. He lives in on the SW side of town. We are suppose to go bowling (sometime). He looks young but he tells me he is 32?!? Hmm. Love that he has a picture standing next to this car?!?! Men are so strange. If it isn't a car it is a dog?

This is Trey-35, who lives in B.R., LA but has family in Houston. Potential long distance relationship? Those usually don't work out.

This is Robert-48: Been divorced twice, 2 kids age 19 & 5-what a spread eh? Nice guy but a little older than I am use to dating. Maybe I'll take up a Sugar Daddy! Hmm. j/k! *did you notice the DOG!*

This is Chad-32. I've been talking to him on and off since last time Nellie put me on a dating website. We are suppose to meet for coffee or wine in the next week or so! He has invited me out before but I chickened out! Lame I know.
This is Mark-36, I am not sure what is going on with him, we have been talking the past couple days but the email started out as: Good luck in your search for someone special: perhaps that was his way of testing the waters.....he seems witty and nice so we will continue our messages and see what happens. I can always use more friends,no? Nellie would disagree. lol

This is Mike-33, he has given me the phone number so I am sure our texting connection will begin soon.

This is Steve-42. He plays the guitar and is very down to earth. We have yet to meet. Still working on the email correspondences. He does not look 42!

This is Alex who is 'new' to Houston from Austin. I am suppose to show him around. Might be fun. He is 32.

This is Jazzy Jeff. He is 30 and lives in the 77002. I have had him over for dinner and we had a good time talking. He seems cool but he may be more of a "good guy to know" friend thing? We are suppose to go to the roadside carnival Saturday afternoon. He is fun.

Julia Goolia is Back In Texas!

Julia & I @ the Kemah Boardwalk 6/2005??
I don't know why it is so small.
My beautiful friend-Inside and Out! Glad you are back in Texas with me!

I haven't had much time to BLOG about anything but I feel bad for not posting...so here is a little bit of what has been going on in my world.

1. My BFF from Michigan moved back to Texas. Yep, after 3 years of badgering her she finally took the plunge. She lived here back in the day and had left after a childhood friend of hers was in an accident and needed to be cared for. That is just the type of person she is. She left TX and went to VA. She stayed in VA for a year or so and then found herself in tough situation. Moving over there and having plans fall from beneath her she moved back to MI which is home for her and her two children.

Anyhow, years have passed and we still talked on the phone as often as possible...those of you who know me, know that I am not a big phone person but she is near and dear to me and I always enjoy our talks. This girl knows EVERYTHING about me...maybe too much! ;-) Now she is back I couldn't be happier to have her here.

We are on our FINAL mission to live a healthier lifestyle and I think we'll be a great team for one another. We have been planning our meals, our exercise routines and dreaming about the day we'll be able to run a marathon (or something really physical). I am her motivation/coach which in itself is more motivation for me. I guess I like to be bossy and in charge! lol I just hope she doesn't hate me at the end of all this because once I have made something or someone my Project it is ON!

2. I have started to plan how my summer will pan out. Initially I was thinking of going to some exotic destination every other weekend or something but the more I thought about it I just felt like this is the perfect time for me to focus on me and just relax. The boy and the girl are in Washington with their father and they are doing great. I get to talk to them everyday and they send me text messages and emails all the time. I do miss them very much and can't wait for their return at the end of the summer.

3. I have been doing a little bit of dating too. Something I haven't done a great deal of since my divorce. I am not looking to rush into anything just thought I'd see what is out there. So far things have gone pretty well. It is just so hard to date, especially as a single mother of two beautiful children. My son thinks I should be with some special. I guess he sees that his dad has a wife but Mommy is alone. Lauren on the other hand likes things the way they are and insists that I have her and Darren and that is plenty. I know the kids and I spend so much time together and I truly enjoy everything we do...whether it is lounging around the house watching silly movies or going to the park and playing board games. They are my world. So for me, dating is exciting but at the same time nerve wrecking. I know most of my blogger buddies are happily married but for me it wasn't "til death do us part". I am always very torn on being happy with my kids and finding my Mr. Next. I will have to keep you all posted on how this summer goes. I figured since the lil ones are gone I can take a bit of time for me and see what's out there. RIGHT?!?

I don't find being a single mother challenging what I do find almost impossible is dating as a single mother. Bleh!

Lisa's 30th Birthday!

I sure hope Lisa enjoyed her 30th Birthday Party. She had everything decorated Hollywood theme with a red carpet and all. We had a great time and even left with a little golden statue. Too cute.
Ringing in the ol' 3-0 with my dear friend Lisa.
All dressed up!

Port A

Where we stayed! This was such a beautiful house.
Our walk down to the beach. It was a very beautiful day out.
We had to take a break! LOL
Cederic was happy to be out and about! We forgot to take him to N.M. with us a couple of weeks ago. We love our traveling Gnome! :-)
Gigi & I having a good time!

We had a wonderful time in Port Aransas. I never realized this beach community is just a short drive from Corpus. We went out at 11:00am and stayed out there until 8:00pm. The weather was awesome. It was hot out but we had such an amazing breeze coming in that it was so very relaxing. We played on the Boogie Boards, Looked for seashells, played in the sand and simply relaxed.

The only down side to the trip is we came back minus 2 pairs of sunglasses and without my cell phone. Other than that, it was a wonderful trip and I can't wait to make it a part of my regular travels. It sure beats going to Galveston. I hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend as well. I am also so happy my P.I.C. Gina was able to take the day off and go with me. Thanks girl. You are the best.

WORDLESS WEDNESDAY! PASSPORT BABY!

The Past Week: BELOW This post

I had it as a DRAFT!!! (click)Oops.

Ha ha.....Oh, and I got the kids slide @ Walmart. It was $300.00 something like that. Tons of fun for the adults too. *wink* I may have to host a Girls Fun Park soon. :-)

If anyone wants info on my famous Detox-email me @ sweetestthing77459@yahoo.com, there is much more to it then what I have listed. I am enjoying my apple as we speak.

Backyard Fun

The below pool represents what my sisters and I played in when we were little. We had the green plastic pool that took 10 minutes to fill up with water, remember the one that had an alligator slide along the inside of it? I just thought this was the best little pool to take a dip in. To say the least, that pool is definately for the dogs compared to what the boy and the girl get to splash around in.

Todays kids get to enjoy these giant inflatables.
"Splash Time @ Grandma's"

Ah yes I bought the kids this one to play with.
It sure beats taking them to Galveston.

The Past Week

The past week or so has been quite a busy one for us. The kids are enjoying their summer break and have done many activities so far. My super sweet friend Heather actually picked them up yesterday and took them to the Children's Museum. Her nieces and nephew are in town and she figured my little ones would enjoy going with them and they did. Lauren came home with her face painted and she looked so cute.
They are especially enjoying any and all time they get to play Rock Band and have become quite the little experts. It is so cool to have them listening to the music that I grew up with. Before Rock Band, I had never imagined my son saying, "I love the Red Hot Chili Peppers" and "Metallica".
The kids spent some time with their cousins and grandma recently. Darren is a good big brother and he is also very good with his little cousins. He is the oldest of all the grand kids and he is so good with all of them. Not to mention that he is the ONLY boy. His cousin Kendra just loves him.
I had a gals night out this past weekend and we had a lot of fun. We went to some concert/club that I had never been to before. It wasn't exactly my cub of tea but because I was with the ladies I had a good time. I now know how it feels to walk among 5,000 people like a huge ant farm. I actually had to call it a night and retire a little early due to the body heat of all these concert goes. We played some pool, drank some drinks & did a little bit of dancing. I really must look into taking some salsa dance lessons. :-/
Yolanda, Rosalinda & I @ the Duelo Concert
.
Update on my DETOX: Going great! Day 2 and going strong. The detox is much easier to do in the summer time. One: It is hot outside and that makes me less likely to feel hungry and Two: There is nothing like salads, veggies & fruit on a hot summer day. Plus I already drink a lot of water. I will start my workouts when I return from Port A.

DETOX: DAY 1

Breakfast: 2 Cups of Fruit-Green Grapes, Pineapple & Honeydew
Lots of water

Snack: An apple and more water

Lunch: Baked Potato (plain) Salad (no dressing) and you guessed it: More water

Snack: Strawberries & Raisins w/yet more water!

Dinner: Same as lunch but I will be adding some grains and we can not forget that water.

As some of you know, I have piled on a few beach destinations to my summer travels so now I am trying to get a kick start on the reduction of my winter fluff. Why I have that, I have no idea, Winter in Houston is when people start to go outside and do things. I think we'll just call it my body clock working off growing up in Colorado.

I am not trying to lose any crazy amount of weight but you know how we get when we look at all those swimsuits. I have done this program before with my old trainer (who moved to Germany!!) and it was great. I can honestly say that it made me feel cleansed and my taste for food really changed for the better. I can NO longer put any type of salad dressing on my salads. It kind of grosses me out. I actually enjoy the taste of the vegetables in the salads. Go figure. I use to use Ranch dressing for everything, French Fries, Veggies, Steak, Chicken even Ice Cream (okay not really ice cream but you get the point). I may be feeling it a bit by Wednesday but I am going to stick with it and feel refreshed at the end of it all. Which by the way is a 2 week detox. By the 2nd week I do get to add some turkey and chicken. Last year when I did the detox I lost 8 lbs and kept it off for over 6 months. I think because my taste buds couldn't quite handle all the garbage I use to shove down my mouth before without realizing it. Until this day I still can't finish an adult meal. Before I use to eat mine and clean off the kids plates. Just something to blog about today.

I'll keep you all posted on my progress.

It is the social life we lead that makes it all so hard. I am having to make a date for this evening at 9:00pm...so no food will be involved. Hmmm. LOL
