Chrismtas Recap

All the hustle and bustle is now at a calm. Thank goodness. I was way too grinchy this Christmas season. It is all such a production and I have avoided the stores for the past two weeks. I did my last minute shopping for the boy and the girl on Tuesday evening and I could not believe how wiped out all the shelves were. I went into the clothing department at Target to get them something cute to wear on Christmas day and they had NOTHING. Now I am avoiding the stores for the next week or two so I don't have to deal with all the after Christmas Bargain shoppers. As crazy as that sounds, a few years ago I use to be that woman waiting in line for the doors to open to buy up all the Christmas decorations at 50-75% off. Not these days!

Christmas eve was very nice and relaxing. We just stayed at home and watched movies. Time well spent together. The kids went to bed early of course and awoke to gifts from Mom and Santa. Santa bought them really nice Bikes this year, he is SO AWESOME! They were really excited and had a lot of fun. That made my Christmas. Just seeing their little faces light up and watching them tear open gifts and give thanks and hugs.

They made me some gifts this year. Those are the best gifts. They made snowmen ornaments, a ginger bread house and an elf with a teddy bear. Very creative and much detail was given. Lauren also made me a bracelet with a little green wreath charm. They warmed my heart with their sweet gifts. *Thanks to Holly for letting them get down with the arts and crafts*

After they opened their gifts at the house I made a nice big breakfast and then they got dressed and ready to go to Grandma and Papu's house. I did a lot of driving Christmas day. I dropped them off and went back home where I enjoyed my Christmas Survival Kit consisting of Crown and Coke Zero. Tee hee, followed by a few movies. I had to limit myself to only a couple helpings because I did have to go back to Missouri City to pick up the kids. Boy did they make out over there. I had to ask them to do sort of a Show and Tell so I could see everything they got. To think they still have gifts coming in the mail from Colorado.

I am also very thankful for Russ for helping me pick up gifts from the stores and also being my assistant in wrapping all those gifts. I truly appreciate all the help. Overall, I was grinchy but it turned out to be a very nice Christmas with the Boy and the Girl.

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and that you all have a Safe and Happy New Year.

~Apres Ski Round-Up~

Skiing in 6 Weeks To Be Exact!
My ticket is booked for my 2009 Ski Adventures with the Fantasy Ski Team

We normally visit Steamboat, Colorado. This year we are going to Aspen/Snowmass. I am so excited to get my ski on!

Yes-I know, most of you (Steph) hate the snow, cold etc. I for one, LOVE IT! Mainly when I get to ski in it during the day and come down the mountain in the early evening and enjoy some much needed/much earned Apres Ski Drinks! Ahh, there is nothing like sipping on some good ol'beverages with your ski mates after a breathtaking day on the slopes.
This will be my 4th year with the Ski Group!

Monday Blues......Weekend Recap!

~D&L @ The Incredible Pizza Company~

My weekend was pretty quiet I guess. Friday night I was out with some friends at Boudreaux's. Some much needed drinky poos to end my week.

Saturday was a long boring day. We basically sat around the house all day and watched movies. Movie after movie after movie. We ended up going to dinner at Olive Garden, which is usually a real treat. Although this time it wasn't. It was okay, but my meal had an odd taste to the sauce. I should have complained and asked for something else...but did I......NO!! I just sat there and ate it in misery. I got the check and our waiter asked if everything was okay, apparently I had a not so happy look on my face. Especially when I got the bill. This is why I need to just eat at home. For what we dined on at OG, I could have made at home for under $10.00 (easily). Live and learn I suppose and stick to what you know...lasagna, spaghetti etc. *SHRUGS*

Sunday we went to the Incredible Pizza Company. I'd like to say it was an Incredible Rip Off. Yes, the concept of it all is awesome. Thinking indoor Go-Carts, Mini-Golf, Bowling, Bumper Cars. Well, I come to find out that you cannot enter the place without purchasing their BUFFET. Problem is I/we weren't hungry but okay. So I pay $40.00 to walk in. Then we go back to the gaming center and get a couple Game Cards so the kids can have some fun. They did enjoy the mini-golf course and they got to run the track on the Go-Carts {Lauren won-she is so proud and still has that little ribbon}, they then played about 2-3 video games and they were spent. Not tired-they were out of money. Talk about fast cash. So we decided to hit the buffet. ~BLEH~
The pizza was okay, I mean, hey it is Pizza...that is kind of hard to screw up. I made the mistake of going for the pasta bar. Um..Pat..., I'll take Olive Garden for $65.00 instead. This was worse than day old Hamburger Helper. Noodles were mushy, sauce was bland..ugh. Like always I somehow forced myself through this awful meal too. (I wonder why my pants fit so tightly-I mean I even eat food I don't like). I guess overall, the kids seem to enjoy it all so it was an afternoon to remember, and an event to never do again.

Now it is Monday again and I wish it was still Sunday! Sorry such a blah post. That is just What it Is. Hope you all had a better weekend.
