PEOPLE! PAY YOUR TICKETS IN A TIMELY MANNER!

I was saved by the skin of my teeth (My Mom use to say that). I had a speeding ticket from WAY back in 2007 that has been in the court system the past 3 years. I had been to court 3 times for this ticket and got frustrated with sitting there all day (using up my vacation and personal time off from work) to be told, Mrs. Lobo (that is how old this is..ha ha) we need to reschedule. We have the afternoon dockets to call up and we can't get to you today. My attorney kept advising me to reschedule and fight it another day. I couldn't take it anymore. So I asked what else I could do to take care of this matter and put it behind me already. The judge informed me I could do a Defensive Driving course and have that turned in within 6 weeks and pay the small fee that goes along with it and it will be done.

SO..did I do that. NO! Why? Because I procrastinate (EVERYTHING).

So Saturday (2.20) I get pulled over and guess what! I have a Warrant for my arrest. Long story short: I am handcuffed and put into the back of the cruiser. I am thinking, "Well Laura, this will teach you to procrastinate". To my surprise {{SHOCK}} the officer tells me that he can call it in if I can pay it with my credit card and let me go. Thank goodness I had the $370.00 to pay it. So I did that and I was on my merry way. Only thing hurting was my ego and wrists!

This is my son doing his thing. This kid never stops making me laugh. I need a video of the things he does. He is great!

My little sister and I were talking yesterday and she said she wanted to go to Utah to 'stalk' him. We use that term very loosely...cause we are not actual stalkers. I mean HELLO I have limited vacation time and 2 kids to take care of. Anyhow, when she said that it reminded me of a quote from one of my favorite movies. See below!

Slacking!

Hi all..I have been sick all week. I caught some crud most likely from a co-worker. This cube farm has been hacking, sneezing and wheezing for the past few weeks.

I am finally back to health and I had this neat little random survey from Nellie..so I decided to post it on the lovely blog so I look like I am not slacking.

I have finally added some music to my iPhone. None other than the wonderfully talented Keith Urban. I have been wanting his latest album so I got that one first.

Golden Road was my next favorite. I need to pace myself and wait until next week to get his other albums. He is one of my favorite performers and so far I love his latest work.
iTunes will become my addiction (yet again). It is so nice to have music on my phone. I am slowly but surely figuring this whole thing out.

R.I.P. BlackBerry...HELLO iPhone!!

So my BlackBerry bit the dust. It looked older than any other BlackBerry out there but it still worked like a champ UNTIL..the port cable connector thingy got all bent up. It refuses to take a charge. I was briefly heartbroken and then I was advised by many to just go for it and get myself an iPhone.

Thursday Thirteen! Things That Have Gone Wrong Today Or Just Strange

1. It started with me waking up a FEW minutes late today.
2. I took my shower, and my shampoo and conditioner are missing? (Lauren took it to her bathroom)


3. I only had Shampoo, no Conditioner, so that makes for a bad hair day.


4. My razor needs to be thrown out...SO BAD, I mean really bad. OUCH!


5. The kids get a ride to school today and leave without saying goodbye, no hug or kiss..wth?


6. They rushed out the door and forgot their lunch money! Ugh.


7. I can't find half of my clothes..so I wore some jeans that after today, will go in the trash as soon as I get home. I don't even know why I own skinny jeans in my size...or why they sell them. Women with big hips should not have tapered jeans. Enough said.


8. My sweater is all stretched out, but I wanted to be comfortable-not frumpy.


9. I sat in traffic all morning, left the house 20 minutes early to get to work 10 minutes late!


10. I went to pick up my friend from the hospital today and my ride back to work lost us on the way to her apartment.


11. I get back to the office late afternoon, I still hadn't eaten and decided to walk over to a pizza place to grab a quick slice and they are closed.. =(


12. I got back to work and realized that "someone" (me-duh) needs to fill my friend's prescription, she just had surgery and needs her meds and can't drive. So now I need to leave work..and go take care of this for her..the poor thing.


13. The finance company for my car keeps calling and I have no idea why. They have no reason to call me??

This week...

This week has been crazy! Thank goodness it is almost the weekend, whoop whoop! Although I have been working weekends so I am not sure how much I am really looking forward to them anymore.


Well, I sent out the evites for our Monthly Luncheon (finally).


The hardest thing sometimes is finding a good meeting spot for everyone. The idea is to try something someplace new. It usually has to be kid (significant other) friendly and not too expensive. This is our 3rd month rounding up all of our Houston friends and it has been a great experience so far.


Our 1st lunch was at Barnaby's and oh lord the food was so good. I think everyone agreed, they will eat there again.


Last month we decided on a dinner night since it was also my birthday. We went to Lupe Tortillas. After dinner my dear friend Carol thought I needed some birthday spirt in me, so we went to Aka's for some after dinner spirits. This place was so much fun and the drinks were so super cool. We then took the birthday party to Blvd 610 and danced the night away.

So this month, we are going to go to Sinh Sinh's. I have heard really good things about it so I am excited to try it out. So I hope everyone can make it, I am really enjoying these events.


I know this is a random post, but I am really trying to get back in the habit of blogging. It is like working out...once you get into it..you are good. Once you take a break, getting back into the swing of things can be tough.

Today is my Dr.'s appointment with the Orthopedic Surgeon so wish me luck!

The good news is, I haven't had to wear my brace for the past couple days and I even drove myself to work today and felt comfortable doing so and the swelling is pretty minimal. I am sure my recovery will be better than I had initially expected. I guess after I see the Knee Doc I will know more.

I had a wonderful weekend but had to watch 2 disappointing sporting events. One was the beatdown of Saturday nights UFC match and the other was of course the Cardinals loss to the Steelers. Ahh booga! They were so close, but yet so FAR away. I am just happy that it was a close and good game. I am going to be a lost soul on Sundays now. What to do with my time? Anyone have any good reads to share with me?

A lot has been going on in the past month but oddly enough nothing has been going on. I've been telling myself...Laura...BLOG! I sign on and stare at my page and think, what do I blog about?

Today I was inspired!

1st-I got some great news about some very dear friends of mine.

2nd-I got a call from another awesome friend of mine who thinks about me all the time. She knows Lalo isn't best at calling people, but thank god she is willing to go the extra mile and call me. I love love love this little guy. He is the mascot for Target's Halloween Items and I swear I want to steal him. I don't know why, but I always love these strange things. He comes from Japan and was born out of an egg. *SHRUGS* I have no idea!

The kids haven't decided what they want to be for Halloween which is driving me nuts, since it is Tuesday, October 28th! So we are going tonight and I am sure we'll be swimming through costumes on the floor, most of which will be missing their props, etc. Wish me luck!

Lastly: My dearest friend Holly is finally moving to HOUSTON! She will be here in 12 days! I still need to call her Dad to reassure him that she is doing a good thing!
