Finding My Inner Martha (Yeah Right)

I have come across many blogs in my day where bloggers post about all their creative ventures or post a yummy new recipe. I am not that woman. I normally leave the creativity to a creative friend, normally Yolanda. Anyhow, I was at Walgreens buying tube socks for my daughter's field trip and I passed the Easter isle. I looked at the usual $20 Easter Baskets and after looking closely at them I realized, these baskets have a lot of crap in them. I should make my own. So I grabbed a cart and started grabbing little items here and there. Before you knew it I spent $110 on those socks for my daughter and they came with all this fun Easter stuff! lol
I put together small baskets for my co-workers/friends!
I love that I found the walking/pooping (gumball) chicken.
Here is the basket for the boy, some finishing touches will be added this weekend. For some reason I loved that I found CORN ON THE COB carmel corn. Too cute.

Basket for the girl.

The fun thing is that they can actually use the 'baskets' for other items once all the candy and toys are used up. I had fun making these. I have made stuff before but for the first time in a LONG time I think I truly put these together with a sparkle in my eye. Maybe I've just had the holiday blues for too long and I am finally getting over it. Bring on the next holiday.
~
BTW-HAPPY APRIL FOOLS DAY and
Happy Birthday to my Grandpa Felix (May he rest in peace) and to my sweet cousin Doe.

I HOPE EVERYONE ALSO HAS A HAPPY EASTER!

Rascals & Rascal Flatts!

1st Off-Rascal Flatts Rocked Reliant.
We made a pit stop at the Petting Zoo before eating our Giant Corn Dogs (YUM).
I have more pictures of petting zoo but need to locate my camera..Lauren really enjoyed all the animals. She didn't ride the mechanical bull like I thought she would(she had the option) then when it was too late, she wanted to try it. Silly girl.

Llama Momma! This was a little too close for comfort for me but a Kodak moment for sure.
Not everyday you are head to head with a llama.
The Flag Ceremony before the concert! It was amazing (and I stole this picture from Rachel)
I was so stunned and proud while they lowered our flag and I had tears in my eyes. I was so into it that when I thought about taking a picture they were already wrapping it up.
I am Very Proud to be An American.

It was Military Appreciation Night at the Rodeo and very touching.
THANK YOU TO ALL OF OUR SERVICE MEN & WOMEN.

Michael & Lauren enjoying the show!
Lauren clapped, cheered, sang and danced. Notice her NEW hat.
That girl and her favorite color: Blue!
The Fireworks to Start the show.
Rascal Flatts really entertained and included the audience a lot which is always fun and funny at times.
He has an amazing voice.

I look forward to my 5th time seeing them in concert. They sound just as good if not better than they do on their albums.

More pictures to share once I find my camera. Thank you Michael for sharing your pictures. You got some great shots of the concert. Tonight ROUND 2 with Butter and T-Dizzle.

Note: The kids had school today so we had to leave a little early and still got home fairly late. Sorry kids. Amazingly Darren also enjoyed the show. Both Rodeo and Concert. It was so much fun watching them bid on the Chuck Wagon Races and Cheer. Their favorite part of the rodeo was the Muttin Bustin which by far was the cutest thing I have ever seen. They had a bunch of 5 & 6 year olds hang on for dear life to these sheep and who ever hung on the longest won (the bigger trophy and belt buckle). All that participated won a trophy and belt buckle. ADORABLE.

Yee Haw!

Yes, I am excited to go to the Rodeo and this year I am taking the kids. Lauren is way excited and Darren is a typical 13 (1/2) year old who is like...REALLY? I don't like country Maaahm.
I am like, Yes really, you will enjoy it (daahm it) cause I already bought the tickets. LOL
I have a good feeling he will enjoy the Rodeo, maybe not Rascal Flatts so much.
Wednesday 3.10.10
Rascal Flatts-My 4th time seeing them and I am just as excited as the 1st time. Actually more excited, the 1st time I went I only knew like 2 of their songs. Now I am a full blown fan.
Thursday 3.11.2010
Yep, back to back Rodeo!
Brad Paisley
A 1st Time concert goer for this show

I would like to pre-thank Sara and Todd for the SUITE hookup. Yep, we have Parking Pass and Suite seating to boot (pun intended..ha ha) for Brad!
I couldn't resist and Romance is off both nights...even better.

Happy Rodeo Days my Friends.

(PS-I had a hook up to Keith Urban too 3.16.10 BUT I already have plans with my sweet boy and girl. *Pulls hair out cause he is my favorite* but my kids are growing up too fast). I thought about rearranging my plans with the kids and then realized, it is an hour long concert and I am looking forward to my plans with them much more than this event, so I will just listen to all of his albums all day Tuesday! lol

PSS-That was a long PS...ha ha.

Happy Friday!

Below is a picture of Lee & Joe Jamail Skatepark
Darren & Lauren went to this skatepark last Sunday and really enjoyed it.
I had to throw in the picture of Shaun White skating in our little skatepark.
Sweet!

Well the girl had a pretty good fall on one of the ramps and broke her glasses, so we will be going to the eye doc to get her some new lenses. Thankfully I put them on my vision plan because their military one doesn't cover anything here in Houston. I might as well have the boy get his eyes checked while we are there.
Steak & Shrimp!
Romance said he is grilling some steak and shirmp this weekend!
Sounds good to me.
(I hope my steak isn't that burnt...we like it nice and medium rare)
It is suppose to be a nice (hopefully sunny) weekend which means.......

Garage Trash Out (not my actual garage-mine is worse...yikes)
So, if it is nice and sunny outside the kids and I will be going through our garages and clearing out lots of crap. They have been used as storage (what was suppose to be temporary) and it has just gotten out of control.
Lauren also has a C*Stem Challenge funtion this Saturday, so she will be doing that. They have finished building their robot so I am not sure what they will be putting together on Saturday.
Then she has another field trip on Tuesday to go to another college campus for more CSTEM Challenge work. She is a busy little girl.
Have a good weekend!
Refresh your memory on what CSTEM is: Link Below.

My mini crew! Our little family!

I had a great weekend with the boy and the girl. I also spent a lot of time with the crew, which is always a great time. I have so many pictures and so much fun news to share but will have to do it another day. Really..believe me, I did narrow it down for this post.
More to come....
PS: My fabulous friend Yolanda is starting her own blog too! Yay! I am so excited.
It will be fun to keep up with you and your loved ones on here. I hope you get a few others to join you. I will be watching your every move from this point forward (not in a creepy way either). Ha ha.
Happy Monday! 1st Day of the Week, 1st Day of the Month, 1st Fresh Day for
Lalo-Cha.
(More on that next month!)
