5 More Minutes Mom!!

After Hitting "SNOOZE"...............
The question that arose this morning from my 9 year old is..."That was 5 more minutes?". You see, Lauren's alarm goes off every morning at 5:15am. She is so awesome at getting up as soon as that alarm goes off and jumping in the shower. This morning was a different story. The poor girl had SO much homework it was very painful to watch her struggle to stay awake trying to complete it. Being the trooper she is, she got it all done and had enough time to hang out with me for a bit before going to bed at 9:00. I think she wears herself out sometimes. Anyhow, her alarm goes off this morning and for the 1st time EVER she rolled over and looked at me and asked if she can have 5 more minutes. My first thought was, Oh lord I have rubbed off on her {those who know me well, know that I am the Snooze Queen}. I thought to myself, she is always ready and waiting for that bus at least 10 to 15 minutes prior so no problem. When I go to wake the poor child up her words were, "Aww, that was already 5 minutes?". I was like, sweetie that was 10 minutes! She was so disappointed. She then got up and got in the shower. When the bus arrived (5 min. early-go figure) she didn't have her shoes on and couldn't find her trumpet and she was in a panic. Poor little thing. So my point today is: WHY DOES 5 MINUTES IN THE MORNING SEEM TO GO BY SO QUICKLY? When I press my snooze button on my cell phone it goes off every 10 minutes. I hit it at least 2 to 3 times and it seems like I got an extra 5 minutes of sleep. I just felt so bad for her. I can only hope she doesn't have so much homework this evening and she gets a good night's rest.

PS-This is my 200th Post!

Did she miss the bus? I always want 5 more minutes...that's why I set my alarm extra early. I feel like I'm "getting" something extra. When in fact, I'm not. Ha!

No, The Boy was sure to let the bus know that she was on her way. She woke up ON time (actually 5 minutes early) today! lol

I know! 5 min in the morning can make such a huge difference... I tell myself that I am only allowed to hit snooze twice... somehow it always gets hit 3... oops! :)
